Jennings County Family “Y” Campaign
Rebounds Post-9/11; Going Strong

In 2001, the Jennings County Family YMCA hired Jeffrey Byrne & Associates, Inc. to conduct a Community Readiness Assessment – or fundraising feasibility study. Shortly after the report was delivered, this rural town in Indiana was stunned by the attacks on the Twin Towers.

The shock and aftermath of this national tragedy combined with the need to address recommendations made in the study resulted in the Jennings County Family YMCA Board of Directors putting the campaign on hold. But in January of this year, the effort to raise $2.8 million to build a new YMCA facility took a giant step forward. A formal signing ceremony to execute an agreement with Jeffrey Byrne & Associates, Inc., was held to kick off the Inner Family Division of their campaign. With the Inner Family Campaign exceeding its goal of $225,000, the Pacesetting Gifts Division will kick off this month.

Having the ideal site in hand located just around the corner from the middle and high school complex and the full financial commitment of the Board of Directors assures the success of this campaign.
